Meet the Coaches



High School

Coach Donnell has been the Head Coach for the past seven seasons. The team has earned 67 duel wins during Donnell's tenure. The team has earned eight team awards in that span. The team earned two tournament championships, four runner up awards and two third place awards. The team has had a total of ten state qualifiers and three state medalists during Donnell's tenure. Before coming to Glendale, Donnell was the Head Wrestling Coach at Hickman Mills High School located in Kansas City, MO for the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 seasons. During those two seasons Donnell coached 2 all-conference wrestlers. Coach Donnell did his student teaching at Sherwood High School in Creighton, MO and was a volunteer wrestling coach during the 2007-2008 season. At Sherwood coach Donnell helped coach two state qualifiers. Coach Donnell was an Assistant Wrestling Coach at Republic High School from 2001-2006. During the five seasons the team finished with an overall dual record of 32-17. There were seven state qualifiers and they brought home four state medals which were the first state medals for wrestling in school history. As a team they finished in the top twenty at the state tournament four times. Four of the Republic wrestlers went on to wrestle in college and one of them was part of two Division I National Championship teams as a member of the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Coach Donnell attended Parkview High School and competed in wrestling, cross country and track and field. Donnell received an Associates of Arts Degree and a Business and Marketing Certificate from Ozarks Technical Community College. A Bachelors Degree in History Education from Missouri State University and a Masters Degree in Educational Technology from Central Missouri University. Coach Donnell is married to Breanna Donnell and has two sons.



Coach Colbert is in his first year on the coaching staff. Coach Colbert graduated from Glendale in 2015. He earned All-Conference honors four times, All-District honors two times, Kinloch Tournament finalist, Truman Tournament champion, Butler Tournament champion and a Monett Tournament champion. He earned a second place finish at the Midwest Nationals Tournament. He qualified to the State Championship Tournament twice and earned All-State honors (4th place) and Academic All-State honors. Coach Colbert also has the third most wins in Glendale's history.

Today we are spotlighting Coach Bisbey. He is in his first year on the coaching staff. Coach Bisbey wrestled at Willard High School. He was part of an undefeated duel team his junior year. He earned All-Conference and All-District honors. He earned third place finishes at the Kinloch Tournament twice during his career. He also qualified to the Missouri State Championship Tournament his senior year and tied for 7th. After high school, he was the varsity starter at 174lbs at Drury University. He is a Finance and Economics major with a minor in Animal Studies.

Coach Durkalski is in his first year on the coaching staff. He is a certified strength and conditioning coach through the NSCA. Coach Durkalski graduated from Evangel University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in exercise science and is a member of the Phi Epsilon Kappa honors society for kinesiology. He has been an MMA fighter for 5 years in the welterweight and middleweight divisions with an amateur record of 1-0. Coach Durkalski has also worked with Convoy of Hope (a local Springfield non-profit) since 2012, which has taken him everywhere from Haiti, to Tanzania, to the Himalayas to provide disaster relief, help institute feeding programs, and teach self-defense.
